Mathijs joined Gilde in 2026. Before that, he spent 5 years as CFO of Open Dutch Fiber, the largest independent fiber-optic network in the Netherlands covering 1.5 million households, which he co-founded alongside Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR) and Digital Transformation Capital Partners (DTCP). Earlier in his career, he worked at Reggeborgh, an entrepreneurial family office, where he was responsible for investments in, among others, construction, oil and gas, and telecoms. Prior to that, he completed an internship at Apollo Global Management in London. Mathijs studied finance at Bocconi University in Milan and business administration at London Business School.
