Who we are
Gilde Equity Management Benelux Partners BV (‘Gilde’) is a private equity firm. In the course of our business operations, we collect, store, and process personal data (‘data’). This Privacy Statement (‘Statement’) explains how we collect, process, and use personal data. We process this data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Dutch GDPR Implementation Act.
What data is collected?
The data we collect depends on the nature of the relationship between you and us. Generally, this includes your name, postal address, email address, job title, telephone number, company name, and corporate structure.
Your curriculum vitae, employment history, nationality (including a copy of your identification document), references, results of due diligence investigations, and information regarding your financial position in relation to deals or investments may also be recorded.
How do we collect your data?
We record data that you voluntarily provide to us, for example when you communicate with us via email or other means, when you meet someone from Gilde, when you request or provide information to us, or when you apply for a position.
Your data may be supplemented with information from other public sources, such as search engines, industry-specific newsletters, social media, and your employer’s website. Due to the nature of our activities and operations, your data may also be provided to us by professional parties under confidentiality.
For security reasons, our office is equipped with camera surveillance. If you visit our office, you may be recorded on camera.
How do we use your data?
We use your personal data based on one of the following legal grounds:
- The processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which you are a party (or to take necessary steps prior to entering into a contract with you).
- The processing is necessary to comply with our legal obligations.
- The processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by us.
- The processing is carried out with your consent. If we process your personal data based on your consent, we hereby inform you that you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before it was withdrawn.
We process your personal data for the following purposes:
- To provide our services to you and/or to fulfill our contractual obligations in that regard;
- To comply with legal obligations to which we are subject, including tax legislation, anti-abuse and anti-money laundering laws, KYC requirements, such as those under the Dutch Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Act and the Sanctions Act 1977, obligations under the Financial Supervision Act, and other legal requirements;
- To maintain records and manage relationships;
- For communication purposes, such as processing and responding to your requests, inquiries, and complaints, and maintaining business relationships (if you are employed by our investors, portfolio companies, service providers, or advisors);
- To establish, exercise, or defend our legal position and rights;
- For analysis and research purposes, for example in relation to the prevention of fraud and abuse, as well as to improve our services; and
- For marketing purposes that we believe may be relevant to you, including sending newsletters, press releases, and informing you about new investment opportunities if you are an investor in the Funds, or based on your consent.
With whom do we share your data?
In connection with the aforementioned purposes, your data may be recorded in our CRM system, for which we collaborate with service providers, and may be shared with professional advisors and business partners such as co-investors and lenders. Additionally, your data may be shared with the Tax Authorities and regulatory bodies if there is a legal obligation to do so.
We do not make your data available to third parties for commercial purposes.
How long do we keep your data?
The period for which we retain your data depends on the purpose for which it was collected and the applicable legal requirements. We do not retain personal data longer than necessary.
Data Security
Gilde has implemented appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against loss and unauthorized access by third parties.
We require the same from our service providers and have contractually stipulated these obligations.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files used to enhance the functionality of our website. Cookies that are strictly necessary for the operation of our website may be legally stored on your device. For all other cookies, we require your consent. We only use cookies to analyze visits to our website. If you play a YouTube video via our website, we will ask you to accept YouTube’s tracking cookies.
Your Rights
You have the right to know which data we have recorded about you and to obtain a copy of it.
You have the right to have incorrect data corrected, and in certain cases, you may request that (part of) your data be deleted.
You also have the right to receive your data in digital format and to transfer it to another data processing party.

Updates to this Privacy Statement
This Privacy Statement was last updated in February 2025. We reserve the right to amend this Statement should our data processing practices or applicable legislation change. The revised Privacy Statement will be published on our website and will apply from the moment of publication.
