Chemogas

Chemogas, headquartered in Grimbergen (Belgium), is a global leader in the filling, blending and distribution of chemical gases and liquids, as well as related services. It is one of the premier global providers of packaged ethylene oxide to the worldwide medical sterilization industry. In 2016, Gilde acquired the company together with management from The Linde Group, a German listed multinational industrial gases company. The goal of the management buy-out was to further grow the company internationally.

The Asian market in particular had a lot of potential for Chemogas, which is why we embarked upon the complex acquisition of Malaysia based Stereo in 2018. This created a local hub in the fast-growing Asian market and further strengthened Chemogas’ position as an international reference supplier of packaged chemical gases. In 2019, Chemogas became part of US listed company Balchem. Balchem is the market leader in packaged ethylene oxide in the US, comparable to Chemogas’ position in Europe and Asia. The combination with Chemogas created the global market leader in packaged ethylene oxide for the medical sterilization industry.
