Schiedam - HSM Offshore Energy is proud to announce it will become part of Eiffage, a move that marks the next chapter in the company’s growth and ambition to lead in the offshore energy transition. Smulders, a subsidiary of Eiffage Métal, has acquired 100% of HSM Offshore Energy. HSM Offshore Energy was part of the Andus Group and has been supported in its growth by private equity investor Gilde Equity Management (GEM) since 2021.
This strategic step, fully supported by HSM Offshore Energy’s management and shareholders, builds further on a strong foundation of collaboration. Over the years, HSM Offshore Energy and Smulders have successfully partnered on several complex offshore energy projects demonstrating its shared commitment to quality, innovation and reliability. Together, they cover the full EPCIC value chain for offshore topsides and high voltage substations, offering complementary strengths in engineering, fabrication and project delivery.
Accelerating in a growing market
The offshore renewable energy market is evolving rapidly, and so is HSM Offshore Energy. With the growing scale and complexity of offshore wind projects and the emergence of new markets, financial strength and technical innovation are more important than ever. Becoming part of the Eiffage group gives HSM Offshore Energy access to an even broader network of production facilities, allowing to better serve clients and take on larger, more complex projects from monopiles, transition pieces, jackets and large offshore topsides.
A proud milestone in our journey
Following several years of strong performance, including a record turnover approaching € 300 mln in 2024 and the expansion to a second yard in Stormpolder, HSM Offshore Energy is well-positioned to meet growing market demands. The offshore energy sector is scaling up fast not just in wind, but also in areas like carbon capture & storage and green hydrogen and this combination gives HSM Offshore Energy access to greater capacity, enhanced engineering resources, and the financial strength needed to compete at the highest level.
This marks a new chapter in HSM Offshore Energy’s journey. One that builds on its momentum, safeguards the entrepreneurial culture, and opens up new opportunities for HSM’s clients, partners, and people.
Together with Smulders, HSM Offshore Energy is creating a leading Centre of Excellence for the offshore renewable energy industry—ready to deliver the energy infrastructure of the future.
The transaction is subject to approval by the competition authorities.
