The appointment of Allard Bijlsma as the new CEO of Dunlop Protective Footwear, the world’s leading company in branded waterproof protective boots, shows Dunlop’s commitment to the further strengthening of their customer and innovation focused international growth strategy.

Allard Bijlsma as CEO as of 1st March, 2012

After having built the company successfully over the last 15 years, the current CEO Peter Traas will join the supervisory board commencing the same date. Allard joined the company in September 2011 to facilitate a seamless transition.

CEO Background

Allard Bijlsma has a background in leading international businesses for Philips, for which he has been stationed in the Netherlands, Hong Kong, Japan and Germany. Allard led the European Consumer Electronics organization and in his last position was the CEO for the Consumer Luminaires business within Lighting. He has extensive experience in working with a brand, leading innovation and making it work where it counts, in the marketplace.

With Allard Bijlsma joining the company, a further confirmation of the Dunlop market centric strategy for international growth in Europe and North America has been underlined.
