22 September 2017

Lummen, 22 September 2017 – Ingrid Lieten, former Flemish minister and CEO of Flemish transport company De Lijn, becomes the new CEO of Actief Interim in Belgium.

Actief, one of the fastest growing independent temporary staffing companies in Belgium, attracts Ingrid Lieten as new CEO for the Belgian operations of the group. So far, Mark Maesen combined this role with the role as CEO of the group. Driven by rapid growth of Actief in the Netherlands and Germany, the group CEO role became ever more important, and a new CEO for Belgium is a logical step forward in the expansion strategy of the group.

Actief Group CEO Mark Maesen is pleased with the arrival of Mrs. Lieten: “Actief has grown to the 7th place on the Belgian temporary staffing market over the last 25 years. We want to continue this growth in Belgium with a clear ambition: grow into the top 5 of the temporary staffing ranking and continue to work on further expansion of our branch network in Flanders and Wallonia. Ingrid Lieten brings along valuable experience and leadership skills to realize this ambition. In addition it became clear very soon that the Actief approach, based on local entrepreneurship, long-term partnerships, quality, service and mutual trust, is closely connected to Ingrid’s vision. In this respect I very much look forward to our future cooperation”.

Ingrid Lieten was CEO of Flemish transport company De Lijn between 2002 and 2009. In this role she was elected as government manager of the year. In 2009 Lieten became Flemish Minister of Innovation, Public Investment, Media and Poverty Reduction. In 2016 she ended her political career to become director at LifeTechValley (non-profit), better known under the brand name Happy Aging, whose purpose is to accelerate innovation and employment in elderly care.

“I will leave Happy Aging with a good feeling and I am very pleased to have worked on this wonderful initiative. Happy Aging has become a solid network of companies, care organizations, academics and elderly people. A strong brand where many innovation projects are on the rise. I have a lot of admiration for the way in which Actief has been successfully developed under the leadership of Mark Maesen over the last 15 years. I look forward to further develop the growth strategy of Actief Belgium with all my energy”, said an enthusiastic Lieten. She will take up here new position from the 1st of November.
